Detached 4 Bedroom House with Pool
Our client had been trying to rebuild some former mill cottages on a site near Stone, but was refused Planning Permission.
Following a long battle with the Planning Department, which was taken to appeal in the High Court, he approached DBD Architectural Consultancy to design a dwelling to occupy the site of the former cottages. The constraint of the imposed site development boundary proved to be difficult when looking at how this would fit with all of their requirements.
A split level site also presented challenges as the client wanted to avoid the development looking like a row of terrace houses. DBD Architectural Consultancy overcame this through choice of materials, and by stepping the building to provide separate planes and shadow lines. The scheme is to incorporate a hydro-electric power generation to help make the dwelling self sufficient.
