Bespoke Farm House
Our client had already got outline planning permission for a detached farm workers dwelling on a green field site near Wolseley Bridge, after a 4 year battle with the planning department they approached DBD Architectural Consultancy for help.
They had in mind the builder they intended to use, but no idea how the farm house should look apart from having chosen the facing bricks. The Planners had imposed a maximum of 150m2 for the development, comprising 3 bedrooms and an office, which gave us the benchmark to design to.
After a discussion around preferences, we were able to determine the details and external appearances they liked, and some of those they didn’t like! A large kitchen and a separate lounge were also priorities. Using the information obtained at the meeting, DBD were able to produce the farm house scheme.
Following obtaining full planning permission, we produced the details for Building Regulations after which they employed the builder to carry out the construction.
